Patisserie "U Szarego" was launched in 1966 by Mr. Edward Szary, who learnt his trade from Radom confectioners. It is famous especially for the production of the Opatowski doughnut, which won the prize in the contest Our Culinary Heritage in 2011. Furthermore, traditional methods are used here to make different types of sweet buns and cakes, such as yeast cakes, French pastries and gingerbread. All raw materials used in production are natural. The high-quality products of the patisserie are popular not only among the residents of Opatow, but also visitors, who take the doughnuts to various parts of the country.
