The book "Vestjyske Livretter - en samtalekogebog" has just been released. In the book, eight well-known Danes visit eight different restaurants in Western Jutland for a talk about life and favorite foods, and they cook their favorite dishes.
The book is published by Madlandet i vest, which is supported by the European Union through the European Fund for Rural Development and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and Central Denmark Region. Profits from sales of the book go to Culinary Heritage Western Jutland.
During the summer the initiative "Madlandet i vest" and members of Regional Culinary Heritage Western Jutland has worked together with Haukrogh Communication and photographer Pia Enghild on a cookbook from Western Jutland.
Through conversations with eight well-know Danes the book tells the story of food and products from the area.
Visits to the local producers and preperation of the celebraties' favorite dishes in eight different restaurants are essential parts of the storytelling.
The book "Vestjyske livretter - en samtalekogebog" will be released in October 2013.
In Stauning they have a reason to be proud. An international jury declared Stauning Young Rye the best rye in this years tasting.
Stauning Whisky sent two bottles for review in the International Review of Spirits Competition, and both bottles did impressively well. Stauning Young Rye got 96 out of 100 points, while Stauning Single Malt Peated 2nd Edition got 93 points.

Fish Day in Thyborøn – in august there are lots of activities and entertainment in the town, at the harbour and at Thyborøn Fish Auction Centre. Among other things, you can experience the very lively fish auctions, let your children try a bobsleigh run (sized for children), or an obstacle court, take a boat trip from the harbour, and hear the local folk group “Tørfisk” give it all they’ve got on the stage. Lots of special fish courses are served. In 2012 the Fish Day is on the 4th of August.
Fish auctions – experience the good old-fashioned fish auction. At the Fish Auction Centre at Thyborøn Harbour , you can buy fresh fish for your dinner table every Wednesday in July and August from 11 to 12 a .m. . In Thyborøn, fish are normally sold via the internet, but the old method is revived to give you a unique opportunity to witness the auctioneer swinging fish, figures and money.

Three new members from the Municipality of Herning was welcomed in Culinary Heritage Western Jutland
In November 2010, Culinary Heritage Western Jutland welcomed the first 11 members.
Three of the members are restaurants: Kræs Café & Restaurant, Restaurant Sandgaarden and Westergaards Hotel. The other eight new members are small-scale producers of wine, beer, meat, fish, vegetables and ice cream: Fjordens Bryghus, Staby Ismejeri, Højgaardens Kød og Pålæg, Kræmmergaard, Venø Lam and Kartofler, Johs. Jensen Fiske- og Muslingeeksport, Brage Vin and Lindbjerg Økoged.
In each of the four municipalities where the new members come from, their membership was celebrated with a ceremony where the four different mayors congratulated the members and handed over the enamel signs.
